Program Overview

At the ACCELERATE level, students transition through the final stages of Junior School as they accelerate toward Senior School training. By this stage, students have established strong technical foundations and are ready for increased expectations, focus and progression.

Classical Ballet Training

Students in the ACCELERATE level continue their Ballet training under the Cecchetti method. More dedicated ballet students working within our Elite stream will attend two ballet classes per week — a general Ballet class and a Grade 4 Cecchetti Exam class — to ensure appropriate preparation for their Ballet examination, typically held in July/August.

To further support advanced technical development, students are encouraged to participate in the Grade 5 Ballet Exam class at no additional cost. While the exam is not sat, this class provides higher-level training that supports accelerated progress across all dance genres.

Students who have completed their Grade 3 Ballet examination in the ELEGANCE level, continue with their Grade 4 Ballet examination during ACCELERATE, and demonstrate the required technical standard and maturity may be invited to join the Elite Competition Team in the 10 & under age group.

Elite Competition Pathway

Elite Competition Team students train in an additional 60-minute class per week. Throughout the year, students learn three routines which are performed at two major competitions. Two routines are also showcased at the end-of-year performance in December.

All ACCELERATE students are celebrated at the Presentation Evening in December as they graduate into the ELEVATE level and receive their certificate and medal. Elite Competition Team and Ballet Exam students are further acknowledged for their commitment to additional training and performance achievements.

Additional Opportunities

As the year progresses, ACCELERATE students may access extended opportunities including an in-house Student Choreography Competition, participation in our Summer Intensive in January with industry-renowned teachers, involvement in school social events, and attendance at external events such as Cecchetti Ballet Australia awards days.

Please note: Entry-level beginner students aged 10 may be required to commence in the GRACE level before entering the ELEGANCE or ACCELERATE levels, depending on experience and class selection, to ensure a strong foundation in basic technique.
