Program Overview

The ACHIEVE level is the pinnacle of the KGD pathways program, where students are recognised as accomplished, technical and versatile performers. This stage celebrates the culmination of training through the Junior and Senior levels and supports students as they prepare for advanced training, performance opportunities and future pathways within dance and the performing arts.

Dance Styles & Training

Students at the ACHIEVE level continue with the same dance genres as the previous level, including Classical Ballet, Pointe work, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Acrobatics and Encore (Musical Theatre). Contemporary/Lyrical classes are also offered, with students required to study a core technique class in Ballet and/or Jazz to meet the technical requirements of this genre.

Classical Ballet Training

More serious Ballet students training within our Elite stream will undertake two to three Ballet classes per week — a general Ballet class alongside Intermediate, Advanced 1 or Advanced 2 Cecchetti Exam classes — to ensure appropriate preparation for their Ballet examination, typically held in August/September.

To further support advanced technical development, students are encouraged to participate in the next Ballet Exam class above at no additional cost. While the exam may not be completed, this advanced class supports higher-level training and accelerated progress across all genres.

Students who continue to train with at least two Ballet classes per week may be invited to join our Elite Competition Team in the 16 & under or Open Age divisions.

Elite Competition Pathway

Elite Competition Team students learn three to four routines which are performed at two major competitions throughout the year. Two of these routines are also showcased at the end-of-year performance in December.

All ACHIEVE students are celebrated at the Presentation Evening in December as they receive their certificate and medal. Elite Competition Team and Ballet Exam students are further acknowledged for their commitment to additional training, performance achievements and dedication to their craft.

Additional Opportunities

As the year progresses, ACHIEVE students may access a range of extended opportunities, including participation in our in-house Student Choreography Competition, access to our Summer Intensive in January with industry-renowned teachers, Master Classes, school social events and prestigious awards days run by Cecchetti Ballet Australia.

Please note: Entry-level beginner students aged 14 and above will need to enter the previous ACCELERATE level before commencing the preceding levels to build fundamental technique, depending on the class/es selected.
